HYDERABAD, October 15, 2026: The West Indies defeated India by 24 runs in the fourth T20 International at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, levelling the five-match series 2–2 and setting up a decider in Bengaluru on October 17.
West Indies captain Shai Hope struck an unbeaten 102 off 50 balls to help the visitors post 247 for three in 20 overs. India were bowled out for 223 in 19.3 overs, despite a rapid start and a fighting middle-order partnership.
Hope’s century powers West Indies
Hope accelerated through the innings and reached his hundred with consecutive sixes in the final over. He received late support from Sherfane Rutherford, who remained unbeaten on 49, as the pair added 91 runs for the fourth wicket.
The total of 247 put India under pressure in a chase that required a sustained scoring rate throughout the innings.
Keemo Paul breaks India’s chase
India began aggressively, reaching 60 in the first four overs, with Sanju Samson scoring 56 off 23 balls. Keemo Paul then removed Samson and Ishan Kishan in the same over, shifting momentum towards the visitors.
Gudakesh Motie further checked India’s progress by taking two wickets in consecutive deliveries. Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy tried to rebuild the chase, but Paul returned to take three more wickets and completed a five-wicket haul.
Series heads to Bengaluru
The result leaves the series level at 2–2. India won the first T20I in Lucknow and the third in Indore, while the West Indies won the second in Ranchi before their Hyderabad victory.
The fifth and final T20I is scheduled for Bengaluru on Saturday, 17 October. The series will be decided in that match.
