Apple iPhone 8 Specs, Release Date, Colours, Price & Everything Else We Know!

Apple has just started rolling out invites for the launch of next iPhone. The internet is gaga over queries about the iPhone 8 release date. Will there by an iPhone 8 plus? What will be the iPhone 8 price? Is Apple really launching the iPhone 8 Blush Gold colour variant next week? And more importantly, has it moved on over the omnipotent home button with the future iPhone?

There are reports that the Cupertino giant has reportedly codenamed it as iPhone X, chiming in with a decade of its oozing legacy.  Here’s all we know about the imminent Apple iPhone launch, and everything you’ve been expecting.

Firstly, in what appears to be a tribute to founder Steve Jobs, the iPhone 8 launch event will take place at the half underground 1000-seater Steve Jobs theatre. It will be the first-ever event live from this venue inside the 2.8 million square feet Apple Park. You can watch it live here.

Secondly, the next iPhone is expected to be a game changer of sorts. It has been nearly 3 years since Apple made any major upgrades to the iPhone models, except a few. Physically, the iPhone 8 design is expected to gain some real estate. It will be roughly 5.8 inches, which is bigger than the current iPhone on market and illuminated by an OLED display.

While dual cameras are expected to be standard, the screen of the iPhone has seemingly undergone a major overhaul. It might be designed on the lines of Samsung’s recent bezel-less phones including the Galaxy S8 and its predecessor, but only smarter in functionality. While Apple has been experimenting on curved display for a while, it is sceptical if the next iPhone will launch with one.

Oddly enough, the display will notch out at the top giving room to sensors, earpiece and the front facing camera. While the display has gone through a lot of web ridicule and criticism, it can possibly serve as a quick screen for important updates like weather, football score or important information. In such case, it has no doubt drawn inspiration from its most competitive opponent Samsung, which used the ‘Edge’ display for serving similar notifications on its flagship Galaxy S6 and later devices.

Another major iPhone upgrade could be the onboard storage. There are reports that the next iPhone could top storage with a 256GB iPhone and 512GB iPhone variant in addition to the 64GB variant. Under the hood, there’s an Apple Fusion 11 processor, wireless charge support, face recognition technology and support for LTE speeds of upto 450Mbps. Battery is expected to be over 2700mAh capacity. The twin cameras on the rear are tipped to be vertical alignment which is in tandem with the allegedly leaked iPhone 8 cases available online and the purportedly leaked video from a Foxconn assembly line.

According to Twitter tipster Evan Blas iPhone X preorder date will be 15th September 2017 with the purported iPhone 8 release or shipping date as 22nd September 2017.  On the software end, the device will be feature an upgraded version of Siri, and enhanced notifications including the ability to sense when the user is looking at screen. Such sense is applied to mute notifications when users is looking at screen.

Many rumours and leaks have suggested that the next iPhone will be the costliest ever till date. Nevertheless, it depends on the storage variants one opts for. Regardless, it would be anything topping $600 to say the least, with higher storage variant – for the first time- expected to cross the $1000 price tag. This could mean the iPhone 8 could cost nearly 1 lakh for higher storage variants in India where it has a strong presence but Samsung is the market leader with nearly 43% market share.

Word is in the air that the production of the next iPhone won’t begin until late September, apparently due to software issues with the newer model. There are plethora of iPhone 8 accessories already up on market, McDonalds has albeit unintentionally so confirmed the design of the next iPhone by posting a screenshot of its new app for the new iPhone.

Apple has disrupted the smartphone market with every launch of its iPhone iteration since the original iPhone launched by Steve Jobs back in 2007. And the next iPhone launch is looked upon as a great announcement for smartphone lovers, and rival companies who’re breaking sweat trying to parallel the ubiquitous popularity these iPhones garner with their launch.

We’re all rubbing hands in anticipation to see if the next iPhone will coerce us into embracing unprecedented convenience and be an immediate sensation as the first iPhone that Steve Jobs launched. Only time will tell. Meanwhile, we will keep you posted. Stay tuned.
