Government working to overcome minorities educational challenges
Students should always dream High and set higher benchmarks for themselves during their course of education, said TMREIS secretary Mr.B.Shafiullah. Addressing a felicitation program organized by Hyderabad Got Talent at FTAPCCI in Hyderabad, the 2003 batch IFS officer said “TMREIS schools have been providing an exemplary foundation for minorities students, and most students at these schools managed by the society are orphans”
Speaking about overcoming the challenges to achieve success in these schools, he said “the biggest challenge of residential schools was convincing parents to send their children to these schools”
The concept of residential schools was not popular among minorities in Telangana. Yet, in just 4 months after the governments approval, 71 schools were started. These schools were customised to the needs of minorities to the extent of including deeniyat and food preferences, to become successful.
He further added that “in 2016, the minorities welfare department struggled to get the students, but today TMREIS is coerced to conduct an entrance exam to due to high competition among students for enrollment.
He also lauded the increased awareness level among minorities lately. The government is trying to also bring arts and science colleges for minorities.
Irfan Qureshi delivered the welcome address and urged the Muslim community y to actively indulge in educational and skill enhancement activities while Taher Faraz compeered the program. A demonstration of martial arts was also organised by the team of eminent martial arts coach Naveed.
Mr. Khurram, Director of Dawn High School, Mr Mujtaba Hasan Askari – President, Helping Hands Foundation, Mr Abdul Rahman of Helping 2 Hands foundation, Mr Asif Ali, Bureau Chief Ruby TV were honoured for their distinguished services.
Media Plus CEO and online editor of Gawah Weekly Syed Khaled Shahbaaz, who was conferred with the Yudhvir Gold Medal in journalism on the 80th convocation was also felicitated on this occasion.
