12th Rabi’ al-Awwal: A Call to Revive the Legacy of the Greatest Mercy to Mankind

Chicago, September 14: The 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, holds immense significance as the day when Allah SWT sent to this world the Greatest Star and Enlightened Personality, Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). In a message to the Muslim community, noted Chicago-based Oncologist Dr. Tajammul Hussain and the President of Chicago Muslim Medical Alliance (CMMA) urged the Muslim community to set aside their differences and bolster the teachings of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) among the Muslim community.

Isolating the message from the intricacies of the Fiqh aspect, the Islamic jurisprudence, around the celebration of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH)’s birth anniversary, popularly known as Milad-un-Nabi, Dr. Tajammul Hussain said “The Fiqh aspect of Milad is a different discussion, and I am not authorized to speak on it. Instead, let’s make a fresh start. We all accept that on this day, Allah SWT sent into this world the Greatest Star and Enlightened Personality, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”

He is a Mercy to Mankind, his life a guidance for mankind while he remains the greatest army General ever, the greatest Teacher humanity ever seen, the greatest Ruler, the Greatest Judge whose justice system remains unparalleled even after more than 1400 years, the greatest Humanitarian leader, and the greatest social activist. Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) is also exemplary as the greatest Husband, the greatest father of his children, the greatest neighbor anyone could have, the greatest Educator, and the most kind-hearted Human being who starved himself to feed others, he added.

Without the teachings of the Prophet, humanity would have no anchor. In fact, it was this great Visionary Leader whose mission of Islam and vision saved humanity from all the darkness of Injustice, intolerance, racism, ruthlessness, selfishness, brutal materialism, and incorrigible corruption. Without the light of the Prophet’s guidance, humanity would drown in an ocean of darkness, leading to a suicidal and self-destructive path from which recovery would be impossible.

Dr. Tajammul warned that “this darkness, driven by self-created, human-made liberalism and materialism, threatens to overwhelm the human spirit.”

Citing appreciation of Prophet Muhammed PBUH by non-Muslim authors, he said “Even non-believers like Michael Hart, who penned The 100, could not overlook the unparalleled influence of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), ranking him at the very top of his list of the most influential people in history.”

Dr. Tajammul Hussain, who oversees many philanthropic initiatives in both United States as well as India, called upon the young Muslims to respect the legacy of the Prophet, and take pride in his teachings.

He said “despite being the inheritors of this greatest legacy, we find ourselves asleep, distracted by material gains, and consumed by the endless pursuit of wealth and resources. We continue to sleepwalk through life, sending WhatsApp posts or pointlessly scrolling on social media but often fail to live up to the ideals and teachings of our Prophet (PBUH).”

“How long will we remain in this state? Who will wake us up? Why do we continue to chase after corrupt and heartless leaders?”, he fervently questioned.

The time has come for us to unite, irrespective of our ideological differences, and to become true Ambassadors of This Greatest Nabi (PBUH).

He urged the Muslim community, around the globe, particularly those with access to resources like money, technology, and power to stop wasting their time, energy, and money in embracing systems that have failed to deliver justice and humanity.

The only System that will save us and all of humanity is the System brought by Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), he said. He called upon community leaders, Muslim activists, and youngsters to move forward with determination yet stay grounded in the values exemplified by Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) for success in both this world and the hereafter.

Let this 12th Rabi’ al-Awwal be a reminder of our duty to uphold the legacy of the Prophet (PBUH) and embody his teachings in every aspect of our lives.
