Muslim Scholars Urge Community to Set up Welfare Institutions

Students of Azaan International Institute of Islamic Studies exchange greetings after their Dastaar Bandi (Turban-Tying) ceremony during the 4th Convocation of Hifz e Quran (memorization of Holy Quran) held at Indra Priyadrshini Auditorium at Nampally in Hyderabad on Sunday.

4th Hifz Convocation of Azaan International Institute of Islamic Studies Held

Hyderabad, January 13: Muslim scholars and Ulema on Sunday urged the Muslim community to establish educational institutions, hospitals, charitable organizations, orphanages and old age homes. Addressing the 4th Hifz Convocation of Azaan International Institute of Islamic Studies held at Indra Priyadarshini Auditorium, the scholars called upon the community to set up development and welfare centres to truly help the community and the country grow.

15 students including 6 girls and 9 boys were felicitated on completing their Hifz (memorization of Holy Quran) with Dastar Bandi (Turban tying) ceremony held at Indra Priyadarshini Auditorium on Sunday morning.

Delivering the keynote address Dr. Mohammed Asjad Qasmi Nadvi, Shaikh ul Hadith Jamia Arabia Imdadia Muradabad called upon Muslims to protect the next generations from hypocrites. “Hypocrites and western culture are the biggest threat to the community’s development, integrity and welfare”, he said.

He also stressed on the indispensable value of religious education in school education. “Western education system is not suitable to Indian system. It is damaging the Indian culture.”

“Religious education is very important in shaping the minds and hearts of the generation next”, he added.

The scholars also lauded the institution saying the “activities are eponymous to its name Azaan, meaning call to piety”.

He said entities with vested interests are targeting Muslims across the globe, whether in minority or majority of the population.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Azaan Group of Institutions Dr. Yusuf Azam congratulated the students and said the purpose of Azaan School is to transform the student into a complete human being, a good Muslim and a secular Indian with everlasting moral values”

Shaikh Ahmed Ubaid ur Rahman Athar Nadvi supervised the completion of Hifz on this occasion.

Prof. EFL University Dr. Syed Rashid Naseem Nadvi, President Majlis-e-Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwwat TS & AP Maulana Jamal ur Rahman Multani, Guest of Honour and Chairman Islamic Daawah Centre (IDC) Delhi Umer Gauthem, AIMPLB Member Mufti Syed Sadiq Mohiuddin Faheem and others were also present on this occasion.
