Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation’s popular series ‘Remembering Razia Baig’ presented multiple national award-winning actress Suhasini Maniratnam in conversation with celebrated theatre revivalist Mohammad Ali Baig talking about women’s role and conviction in cinema and theatre at Radisson Blu Plaza.
The large turnout were treated to insights from an actress who made her mark on screen purely with her merit. Speaking on the occasion she said “Is a woman’s role limited to making white idlis, keeping towels clean and bed sheets white ? Is it a written agreement that they should just lead a passive life ?”

Talking about chalking her course in a male-dominated industry, she said actresses, women writers or film makers must have a strategy in life and must wait for destiny to make us successful.
The interesting session saw popular theatre scion Padmashri Mohammad Ali Baig, who Suhasini credited and thanked for her theatre debut steered the evening with commendable ease. Popular tollywood actor Naresh who attended the session said her life is an inspiration to her fans.
The series has garnered wide acceptance in the city with people from various walks of life attending it. It is designed by Baig as a tribute to his mother Begum Razia and all those women on stage and screen whose body of work can inspire the next generation.
