TMREIS Functions Smoothly With Strict SOPs; Reports of 2,000 Vacancies Baseless: B. Shafiullah

Hyderabad, December 16: Minority Welfare Secretary to Government of Telangana Dr. B. Shafiullah IFS on Tuesday dismissed reports claiming the existence of 2,000 vacancies in the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS), terming them ‘misleading’ and ‘harmful’. He clarified that only 40 vacancies currently exist across TMREIS institutions.

Speaking on the sidelines of a Press Conference at Telangana Secretariat, Dr. Shafiullah added that the circulation of exaggerated and incorrect information had adversely affected the morale of students and created unnecessary anxiety among parents. Such misinformation, he noted, undermines public confidence in minority educational institutions that have been built with sustained effort and trust.

Meanwhile, TMREIS Vice Chairman Faheem Qureshi warned that strict action would be taken against individuals or groups spreading misinformation about the institution. He said false narratives not only damage the credibility of TMREIS but also harm the interests of students and parents.”

Addressing concerns related to student welfare, the 2003-batch IFS officer, who also leads TMREIS as its Secretary, said “we follow strict standard operating procedures at every level, particularly with regard to food preparation and serving”. He assured that these procedures are followed to the letter on a daily basis before every meal is served, ensuring that students receive safe and quality food.

He further thanked Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for increasing the nutrition budget for TMREIS by 40 per cent, stating that the enhanced allocation has enabled the society to provide healthier, more nutritious meals to students across all residential institutions.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to minority education, Dr. Shafiullah said “TMREIS institutions are functioning smoothly and remain focused on providing a safe, disciplined, and academically supportive environment”.

He added that any genuine vacancies or administrative updates would always be communicated through official channels.
