Raising Pious Children: A Comprehensive Islamic Schedule for Kids

Planning an Islamic schedule for your kids from a very young age can help them acquaint and understand fundamental concepts of Islam better. Not to mention, it
also elevates their morals and values. Here’s an Islamic schedule that you can adapt to fit your family’s needs:

1. Fajr Prayer – encourage your child to wake up and pray Fajr with you or other family members.

2. Quran Recitation – allocate some time for your child to recite the Quran. You can either do it before or after breakfast.

3. Islamic Studies – set aside some time for your child to learn about Islam. You can use books, videos or even hire a tutor to teach your child.

4. Dhuhr Prayer – perform Dhuhr prayer together with your child. You can also recite some short Surahs after the prayer.

5. Du’a – teach your child some Du’as (supplications) to recite throughout the day, such as before eating, entering the washroom, leaving the house etc.

6. Dhikr – teach your child to remember Allah throughout the day by reciting some simple words of remembrance, such as “SubhanAllah” (Glory be to Allah), “Alhamdulillah” (All praise is for Allah), “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is the Greatest).

7. Asr Prayer – perform Asr prayer together with your child.

8. Community Service – encourage your child to engage in some community service activities, such as volunteering at a local mosque or helping out a neighbor.

9. Maghrib Prayer – perform Maghrib prayer together with your child.

10. Islamic Storytime – read Islamic stories or share Islamic teachings with your child before bedtime.

11. Isha Prayer – perform Isha prayer together with your child.

Remember that every family’s Islamic schedule may look different, and it’s important to find a routine that works best for your family. Encouraging your child to participate in these activities can help them develop a strong connection with Islam and grow in their faith.
