Press Council of India National Award to GAWAH Editor

Hyderabad, February 7: The Press Council of India has announced to confer its National Award for Excellence in Journalism 2020 to Dr. Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez, Chief Editor of GAWAH Urdu Weekly.

The award will be presented to Dr. Parvez under ‘Developmental Reporting’ by Press Council of India Chairman Smt. Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai on February 28, 2023 at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi. The award-winning article is titled “Unsung Heroes and Martyrs of Urdu Journalism” published in GAWAH Urdu Weekly dated 11th to 17th October 2019. The award will be jointly presented to Ms. Remya K.H., Senior Content Writer, Mathrubhumi Daily.

Dr. Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez is a seasoned journalist and the author of several books on journalism including an encyclopaedia on Urdu journalism titled “Urdu Media : Kal Aaj Kal”.
