Condolence Meet of Prof Baig Ehsaas Held Virtually

The Department of Urdu Alumni at University of Hyderabad organized a condolence meeting on September 12 on Google Meet on the tragic demise of Professor Baig Ehsas. Expressing his deep sorrow and grief, Prof. Syed Fazlullah Mukarram, President, Department of Urdu, said that Baig Ehsas was an excellent novelist, standard critic, compassionate teacher, eminent literary journalist and an excellent man. 

His death created a vacuum that is very difficult to fill. He then read out a message of condolence from the Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, Prof. BJ Rao. 

“We have lost an important writer,” said Professor Krishna, Dean of the School of Humanities in his condolence message. 

Prof. Prasad, Department of Sanskrit and Prof. Bhonsle, President, Center for Linguistics and Translation and Rafiq Jaffer also expressed their condolences over the death of Baig Ehsas.

Manzar, Dr. Muhammad Kashif and Dr. Nishat Ahmed, eminent journalists Dr. Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez, Dr. Aslam Farooqi, Dr. Tayyab Khardi and Roohi Gulnaz expressed their condolences. Farah Tazeen, daughter of Professor Baig Ehsas, remembered her father in a very sad tone and said that whatever he is today is only due to him. She thanked all the speakers. 

The condolence meeting was attended by Dr. Kirti Jawale, President, Department of Urdu, Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Dr. Abrar-ul-Baaqi, Dr. Sheikh Saleem, Dr. Noorul Amin, Dr. Azmi Tasneem and many students and research scholars. 

Prof. Syed Fazlullah Mukarram addressed the gathering. He thanked the department and proposed a seminar on Professor Baig Ehsas be instituted.
