OPPO has begun its India rollout of ColorOS 17, the company’s Android 17-based software update. The official upgrade plan covers selected Find, Reno, K and F series smartphones, as well as OPPO tablets, in phases from October 2026 through the first quarter of 2027.
ColorOS 17 introduces a redesigned interface, performance changes and a wider set of AI tools for organising information, editing photographs, translating conversations and detecting certain forms of manipulated or synthetic media. However, the update is not arriving on every OPPO phone at once, and OPPO says the schedule is approximate and may change by model, region and carrier.

Important: OPPO says this schedule is approximate and subject to change depending on the device, region, carrier and development progress. The order of models on the company’s page does not establish the exact day on which each phone will receive the update. The schedule applies to OPPO devices; OnePlus and realme have separate upgrade plans.
How can you check for the ColorOS 17 update?
- Connect your phone to a reliable Wi-Fi network and ensure it has sufficient battery charge.
- Open Settings and go to About device.
- Open the ColorOS or Software Update section and check for available updates.
- If the update is not listed, check again later. A device appearing on the month-wise plan does not mean the update will be available to every user on the first day of that month.
Before installing a major system update, back up important data and keep enough free storage. Do not install firmware packages from unofficial websites or follow links sent by unknown accounts.
What is new in ColorOS 17?
1. A redesigned interface
OPPO describes ColorOS 17’s visual approach as a Living Flow Design, supported by its Luminous Rendering Engine. The company says animations, transitions and interface elements respond more fluidly to touch, with changes to the lock screen, home screen and notification experience.
2. AI Mind Space and AI Mind Pilot
AI Mind Space is designed to bring saved images, notes, places and other information into organised collections. AI Mind Pilot is a system-level assistant that can interpret requests and help users organise or act on information. OPPO notes that availability depends on the device, region, software version and supported services. The company also says limited free usage is included for some Mind Pilot functions, after which users may need to sign in to a ChatGPT or Manus account to continue.
3. AI Photo Agent
AI Photo Agent offers natural-language photo-editing suggestions for tasks such as adjusting tone, lighting, composition and retouching. OPPO says usage is limited in some cases and additional paid services may apply depending on the region and device.
4. Tools aimed at detecting manipulated media and synthetic voices
OPPO lists AI Face Swap Detection and Synthetic Voice Recognition among the new features. These should be treated as additional warning tools, not as guarantees that a photograph or call is genuine. OPPO says detection support varies; its current face-swap feature supports single-person frames, while synthetic-voice detection is limited to supported incoming-call audio and compatible apps.
5. AI Live Interpreter and OSee
AI Live Interpreter can translate conversations through compatible earbuds. OPPO says the phone-based feature requires OPPO Enco X4 or later earbuds, and supported languages are listed in the app. OSee includes visual-recognition features, but its supported languages and functions vary by region and device.
Will every OPPO phone get every AI feature?
No. OPPO explicitly says some functions require specific hardware and may not be available in the software version at launch. Some may arrive later through over-the-air updates. Features can also vary with regional rules, cloud services, language support and device model. Check the actual software release notes for your phone rather than assuming that every feature shown in promotional material will be available on every eligible device.
Is ColorOS 17 based on Android 17?
Yes. ColorOS 17 is OPPO’s Android 17-based software release. It combines Android’s underlying platform with OPPO’s interface, system tools and AI features.
Where can you find the official rollout list?
OPPO maintains the official ColorOS 17 India page, including the device schedule and feature limitations. For device-specific support, use OPPO India Support. The schedule can change, so the manufacturer’s page should be treated as the final reference.
