Hyderabad, April 3: Senior Vice President TPCC Zafar Javeed has strongly condemned the passage of the controversial Waqf Amendment Bill, calling it a “tragic incident.” He criticized the roles played by Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu in facilitating its approval.
Zafar Javeed, who had resigned from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in protest against Chandrababu Naidu’s alliance with the BJP, stated that Naidu has always been an opportunist, changing his stance like a chameleon. He accused Naidu of consistently betraying Muslims despite their unwavering support.
“To serve his political interests, Naidu has aligned himself with communal forces. He joined hands with the BJP and disgraced the very community that stood by him,” Javeed remarked.

He further alleged that as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu inflicted the most damage on Waqf properties. “He was responsible for gifting nearly 3,000 acres of Waqf land to entities like Microsoft, Lanco Hills, GMR, and the Urdu University,” Javeed claimed.
He argued that the controversial Waqf Amendment Bill could have been defeated in Parliament if “turncoats like Naidu and Nitish Kumar” had honoured their promises to the Muslim community.
“Expecting integrity from them is sheer foolishness,” he concluded, urging the Muslim community to refrain from supporting Naidu in the future.
