Babri Masjid Verdict Disappointing, But Muslims Optimistic About Future: Tameer e Millat

Hyderabad, November 10: All India Majlis e Tameer e Millat, a Muslim NGO known for its annual ‘Jalsa e Rahmatul lil Aalameen’ held every year to commemorate Milad un Nabi for the last 70 years, has said the verdict on Babri Masjid was most disappointing.
“Though we respect the judgement, it is not satisfactory”, it said.

The Tameer e in its resolutions passed on the 70th public meeting on Sunday, said that “though the environment in the country is not conducive for Muslims, they are passing though a turbulent phase, they are optimistic about the future because it is the basic belief of Muslims that there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Eminent scholars, preachers and clerics had advised Muslims not to fear of the present environment because from the ancient period of Islam Muslims have been facing similar circumstances and have come out shining.

Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui exhorted Muslims to follow the teachings and life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, who overcame such cruises with peace.

He urged Muslims that India is just as much as country of Muslims as for other communities, and called upon the community to maintain good relations with fellow countrymen, adding that when Islam started spreading, it spread the message of peace.

Maulana Aashad Rasheed from Muradabad, advised Muslims to be even more patriotic. He said “India needs peace and interfaith unity and Islam peaches about love and peace”.

Maulana Sanaul Huda Qasmi, deputy secretary Amaanat e Shariah, Maulana Ahsan al Hamoomi, Maulana Azizur Rahman, and vice president of Tameer e Millat Mr. Ziauddin Nayyar and consul general of Iran Mr Haghbin Ghoomi also spoke about the life and ways of Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Earlier, Chairman of the 70th reception committee Dr Fakhruddin Mohammad welcomed the audience. President of All India Majlis e Tameer e Millat Syed Jaleel Ahmed presided over the meeting while Secretary of the Reception Committee Omer Ahmed Shafeeq moderated the discussions.

Thousands of Muslims attended the 70th public meeting at Exhibition Ground, Nampally in Hyderabad on Sunday.
