Editorial Standards
GAWAH is an independent newsroom with roots in Hyderabad and a long-standing Urdu journalism tradition. Our digital newsroom is built around original reporting, verification, context and public relevance.
Our journalism
We aim to report what we can establish, distinguish reporting from opinion, attribute information to its source, and correct significant errors when they are identified. Headlines should accurately represent the story and should not manufacture certainty where the facts do not support it.
Originality and attribution
GAWAH gives preference to original reporting, interviews, documents, photographs, video and analysis. Material from other publications, agencies or public sources is attributed where appropriate. We do not present generated or automated material as original reporting.
Corrections
If we publish a material factual error, we will correct the published record as appropriate and, where useful to readers, make the nature of the correction clear.
AI and newsroom tools
Technology may assist research, transcription, translation, discovery, formatting or other newsroom tasks. Editorial responsibility remains with GAWAH’s human journalists and editors. Automated tools do not replace reporting, verification or editorial judgement.
