Media Plus Holds Social Media Worksop For South African Media Professionals

Hyderabad, India – February 27, 2024: A dynamic and interactive social media hands-on workshop, attended by nearly 30 delegates, including senior media professionals, was conducted at the Media Plus Auditorium in Gunfoundry on Tuesday. This workshop, a pivotal component of a week-long training program, was sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, under the esteemed Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme.

Led by Syed Khaled Shahbaaz, the CEO of Media Plus, the workshop aimed to equip journalists with the necessary skills and insights to navigate and harness the potential of social media effectively. Participants engaged in immersive hands-on exercises, delving into best practices related to social media management, including post scheduling exercises and leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, and Google Gemini, among others.

The workshop placed significant emphasis on the importance of speed in disseminating information while ensuring the utmost truthfulness. Recognizing the evolving landscape of media dissemination, participants were encouraged to maintain a delicate balance between speed and accuracy, underscoring the critical role of journalists in upholding journalistic integrity amidst the rapid pace of digital communication.

Interacting with the participants, Syed Khaled Shahbaaz , “In an era where social media serves as a prominent platform for disseminating information and driving change, it is imperative for media professionals to harness its full potential. Our workshop aimed to empower participants with the knowledge and skills to leverage social media effectively, fostering a more informed and engaged global media landscape.”

The program is part of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, towards fostering international cooperation and capacity-building in the field of media and communication.
