According to fourth-time FIMA President Kareem Irfan, the high-profile Iftar will welcome ambassadors from fourteen different countries while the Chief Guest for the evening will be His Excellency Adarsh Swaika, the 2002 batch IFS officer currently serving as the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait.

FIMA, established on March 13, 1996, is a coordination council representing 21 Indian Muslim organizations in Kuwait. 2025 marks the commencement of 30th year of FIMA. It was initially formed after a seminar organized by the Indian Muslim Welfare Association (IMWA) in December 1995 at the IPC Mosque, which aimed to create unity among Indian Muslim groups in Kuwait. Originally called the Coordination Council, it was later renamed FIMA, and a written constitution was introduced in 1996-97.

FIMA works closely with the Indian Embassy and the Indian government to support social welfare and education programs. It promotes cooperation among organizations, avoids duplication of efforts, and advocates for the community’s interests. The federation also focuses on economic, social, educational, and cultural development, while fostering communal harmony and national unity.

FIMA’s annual Iftar gathering brings together people with noble thoughts and shared social interests in its continued efforts to strengthen the Muslim community.
